Leadership Workshop + Sunday Teaching

This format allows leaders to process deeply, while gently inviting the congregation.

Many churches sense it: Something about church feels disconnected from everyday life. Attendance may be uneven. Energy may feel fragile. Leaders may be carrying questions they don't yet have language for.

(Recommended Experience)

Saturday: Leadership Workshop

3-4 Hours | Pastors, Staff, Elders, Board Members & Ministry Leaders

This guided workshop creates a safe, thoughtful space for leaders to explore what faith beyond the building might mean for their church.

Session 1: Why Faith Must Leave the Building

Reframing Mission in a Changing Landscape

Leaders explore the cultural and spiritual shifts shaping how people experience church today and why these changes are not a threat but an invitation.

Key themes:

  • Why attractional models alone are no longer working

  • The growing gap between Sunday faith and everyday life

  • Reclaiming mission without losing identity

Outcome: Leaders gain language for what they are already sensing, and permission to name it honestly.

Session 3: What “Where Life Happens” Gatherings Actually Look Like

Clarity Without Pressure

Leaders are given a clear, practical picture of simple, relational gatherings that foster faith in everyday spaces.

Covered Topics:

  • What these gatherings are (and are not)

  • Why simplicity matters

  • The role of hospitality and conversation

  • How do these expressions complement, not compete with, church life

    Outcome: Imagination replaces assumptions.

Session 2: The Theology of Everyday Faith

Biblical and Historical Foundations

Faith beyond the walls isn’t a modern invention. This session grounds third-space ministry in Scripture and Christian tradition.

Explored themes:

  • Jesus in homes, at tables, and in public

  • The early church as a dispersed community

  • Grace that meets people before they belong

Outcome: Theological confidence replaces fear and suspicion.

Session 4: Discerning Without Urgency

Listening for God’s Invitation

Rather than rush towards solutions, this session creates space for prayerful listening and reflection.

Guided questions include:

  • Who might this be for?

  • Where do we already have relational credibility?

  • What burdens or hopes keep surfacing?

Outcome: Leaders leave grounded, not pressured - curious, not anxious.

Sunday: Congregational Teaching

Sunday worship invites the whole congregation into the vision without pushing anyone beyond their readiness.

Message Themes:

  • Faith belongs in everyday life

  • Jesus meets people in ordinary places

  • You don’t need a title to live sent

  • God is already at work beyond the church walls

The Message:

  • Honors the congregation’s faithfulness

  • Names the longing many already feel

  • Offers a hopeful, expansive vision

  • Ends with blessing, not recruitment

Outcome: The church feels invited into imagination, not an obligation to act.

Who This Teaching Weekend Serves

This experience is especially helpful for churches that:

  • Feel stalled or uncertain about the future

  • Care deeply about people who have quietly drifted

  • Want to explore new expressions without division

  • Desire renewal without reactivity

  • Value thoughtful theology and pastoral leadership

Optional Next Steps

There is no expectation to launch anything immediately.

Churches may choose to - at their own pace - explore:

  • An interest or discernment gathering

  • A readiness assessment for potential leaders

  • Coaching or accompaniment for pilot expressions

  • Continued conversation with leadership teams

Next steps are always optional and shaped by the church’s readiness.
